“My ski school is taking part in the Territorial Energy Climate Project via a very simple environmental strategy: assess, reduce, offset. Following the carbon footprint audit, we implemented an action plan to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions created by our work. For example, our ski instructor’s clothing is produced from recycled fibres, resulting in carbon levels of 20 kilos CO2 compared to nearly 100 kilos for normal clothing. In 2014, we also launched an eco-designed ski made from bio-sourced basalt and flax materials, in partnership with a leading ski manufacturer based in Sallanches. Last but not least, Ecorider owns a plot of land in the Amazon and offsets the effects of greenhouse gases through agroforestry in Peru. ”
